Target Corporation's CTS-4 Automatic Transfer Switch is an independent equipment designed for use in dual interrogator systems. The CTS-4 combines the channel switching capabilities of Target Corporation's CTS-3 Transfer switch. In addition, the CTS-4 monitors the output of the active channel. The compliance of the active channel with system requirements is established by comparison with predetermined thresholds. Front panel LED indicators signify an out of tolerance condition when the on-line channel is not performing adequately. An optional ISLS switch can be supplied, which will generate the Omni and Directional Antenna patterns.
Performance monitoring of the on-line channel is accomplished by measuring specific key parameters as follows:
1) Incident and Reflected Power at the antenna ports (directional
is always monitored; omni is monitored only when the optional
ISLS switch is supplied)
2) Receiver Sensitivity
3) Range Accuracy
All error conditions are integrated so that transients will not cause unrequired switching of channels. The integration limits are operator selectable to suit the installation.
After the status of the faulty channel has been preserved, control is automatically switched to the standby channel. Provisions are incorporated on the equipment front panel for overriding automatic channel selection from both a local and remote point.
Slide-out chassis and modular construction enable convenient servicing. Front panel connectors are provided for monitoring of test signals.
