Target Corporation's lightweight, portable Pulse Generator is intended for use with AIMS systems that do not include the required IFF Pretrigger for Mode 4 identification.

The SG-1066/UPX provides the function of enabling the Mode 4 time decoded video to be aligned, in time, with both radar and SIF vide0. The effect upon the system is to cause the Mode 4 processing to appear to be in response to a Mode 4 Pretrigger. The alignment, or pretrigger time, is adjustable via thumbwheel switches on the front panel in increments of 1 us from 0 to 999 us. An internal crystal controlled clock allows for an alignment accuracy of ±0.5 us independent of the front panel switch settings. Both video and trigger inputs are thresholded to allow for operation in a non-ideal environment and to provide for highly reliable output data.

A slide-out chassis, modular circuit card assemblies and platform mounting enable convenient servicing. All input/output connectors are mounted on the rear panel and connectors are provided on the front panel for signal monitoring.
